Call to Worship

Invocation

Hymn 341: O Breath of Life, Come Sweeping Through Us Spiritus Vitae

Prayer of Confession

Our God and Father, we praise You that Your mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! We confess that we are daily in need of Your grace, for sin clings so closely that we can hardly do anything from a pure heart. We need Your Holy Spirit to sanctify us by Your Word and keep us from all manner of temptation and evil. Grant us the assurance that in Christ we are no longer slaves to sin, and that in him we are new creations. Lord, have mercy upon us, for the sake of Your dear Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Romans 8:1–2

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

Doxology 733 Lasst Uns Erfreuen

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; alleluia, alleluia!
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
