Call to Worship

Doxology Old Hundredth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

Righteous God, to Whom angels cry “holy, holy, holy,” we bow before You with an acute sense of our unworthiness. We are ashamed of the ways we dishonor You in our sin. We confess we have loved darkness rather than the light. We cling to old habits, sometimes bending Your laws to suit ourselves. Our tongues are a restless evil, fueling discord both inside and outside your Church. Merciful Father, please forgive us and cleanse us from our sin. Conform us to Christ by the working of Your Holy Spirit, for Your honor and glory alone. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: 2 Timothy 1:8–10

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord...who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

Invocation

Hymn 32: Great Is Thy Faithfulness Faithfulness

Responsive Reading: Psalm 67 (pew Bible p. 481)

Gloria Patri Meineke

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Offertory: Leaning on the Everlasting Arms (11am) arr. Robert Carwithen
Tenth Church Choir

What a fellowship, what a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms; what a blessedness, what a peace is mine, leaning on the everlasting arms. Leaning, leaning, safe and sure from all alarms. What a fellowship, what a blessedness, leaning on the everlasting arms. O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way, leaning on the everlasting arms. O how bright the path grows from day to day, leaning on the everlasting arms! What have I to dread? What have I to fear, leaning on the everlasting arms? I have peace with my Lord, leaning on the everlasting arms. What a fellowship, what a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms. What a blessedness, what a peace is mine, leaning on the everlasting arms! O how bright the path grows from day to day. Amen.
