Call to Worship

Invocation

Hymn 4: All Praise to God, Who Reigns Above Mit Freuden Zart

Prayer of Confession

Holy Father, judge of all people, we bow before You humbly confessing our sin and imploring Your mercy. We have heard Your commands to love You and our neighbor, yet in our pride and selfishness we fall woefully short. We seek to do our own will rather than Yours, and we serve ourselves much better than we help others. By Your Spirit free us from unholy desires. Help us to love one another as You have loved us in Christ Jesus, in whose strong name we pray. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Titus 3:4–7

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Doxology 733 Lasst Uns Erfreuen

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; alleluia, alleluia!
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
