Call to Worship

Doxology Old Hundredth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

Almighty God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we confess before You and in the presence of one another those things which You alone can see; the chambers of our hearts where we keep our secret past, the part of us which nurtures sinful desire, the pride that shields us from being really honest with You and with one another. We are afraid to be seen as we really are, and yet, O God, You know us through and through. We have sinned against You willfully and deliberately. Please forgive us according to Your mercies offered through Christ our Savior, and sanctify us by Your Spirit, working in us that which is pleasing in your sight, Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Acts 10:43

To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.

Invocation

Hymn 1: All People That on Earth Do Dwell Old Hundredth

Responsive Reading: Psalm 64 (pew Bible p. 480)

Gloria Patri Meineke

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Great day! Great day, the righteous marchin’. Great day! God’s gonna build up Zion’s walls. The chariot rode on the mountain top, my God, He spoke and the chariot stop. This is the day of jubilee, the Lord has set His people free. I’ll see the chariot come my way, I’ll shout for joy on that great day! He’ll save me with His mighty hand, and carry me off to the Promised Land!
