Prelude: Hymn Sing (6:15pm)

Call to Worship

Invocation

Hymn 524: Thy Works, Not Mine, O Christ Darwall

Prayer of Confession

Almighty God, we confess our lives abound in sinful desires and transgressions of Your holy law. Our consciences testify we are guilty before You and worthy of Your just judgment. Merciful Father, grant that we may so embrace Your infinite mercy that we may not doubt Your wrath will be turned from us, and yet not abuse this privilege by taking liberty to sin. Help us in true humility to daily flee to Your mercy, that we may be sustained and kept in safety until that day when we come to that eternal inheritance that has been obtained for us by the blood of Your only begotten Son. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Galatians 3:13–14

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.

Doxology 733 Lasst Uns Erfreuen

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; alleluia, alleluia!
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Hymn 602: O God, My Faithful God Darmstadt

Confession of Faith: Westminster Shorter Catechism, question 106

Question: What do we pray for in the sixth petition of the Lord's Prayer?
Answer: In the sixth petition, which is, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, we pray that God would either keep us from being tempted to sin, or support and deliver us when we are tempted.

Offertory: O Clap Your Hands Ralph Vaughan Williams

Tenth Church Choir

O, clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the Lord most high is terrible; He is a great King over all the earth. God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God; sing praises unto our King. For God is the King of all the earth; sing ye praises, everyone that hath understanding. God reigneth over the heathen, God sitteth upon the throne of His holiness.
