Call to Worship

Doxology Old Hundredth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

Almighty God, to know You is the fulfilment of our deepest longings and satisfaction of our most ardent desires. Yet we have sought our pleasures elsewhere; and have put the seeking of idols above seeking You. We have failed to love You with all our heart, soul and mind; and we have failed to love our neighbors as ourselves. Forgive us for our sin and grant that from now on we might serve You in newness of life. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: 1 Peter 2:24

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

Invocation

Hymn 100: Holy, Holy, Holy! Nicaea

Responsive Reading: Psalm 49 (pew Bible p. 472)

Gloria Patri Meineke

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Lamb of God, Most Holy (9am) Johann Sebastian Bach

None Other Lamb (11am) Craig Courtney

Tenth Church Choir; Norman Carter, piano

None other Lamb, none other Name, None other Hope in Heav’n or earth or sea, None other hiding place from guilt and shame, None beside Thee. My faith burns low, my hope burns low, Only my heart’s desire cries out in me, By the deep thunder of its want and woe cries out to Thee. Lord, Thou art life, tho’ I be dead; Love’s fire Thou art, however cold I be: Nor heav’n have I, nor place to lay my head, Nor home, but Thee. None other Lamb.
