Call to Worship

Invocation

Hymn 301: Join All the Glorious Names Darwall

Prayer of Confession

God of Grace, You love us, but we have not loved You. You call, but we have not listened. You speak, but we have not heard. You summon us, but we have not answered. We walk away from neighbors in need. By our actions and attitudes, we condone what You condemn. O merciful Lord, we admit our sin, and turn to You in full repentance to ask for Your gracious forgiveness. Restore us to full communion with You. Quicken our hearts to hear You when You speak, to be diligent and faithful in reading Your Word the Bible, and to respond when You call us to take action; through Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Romans 8:1–2

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

Doxology 733 Lasst Uns Erfreuen

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; alleluia, alleluia!
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Confession of Faith: Westminster Shorter Catechism, question 102

Question: What do we pray for in the second petition of the Lord's Prayer?
Answer: In the second petition, which is, Thy kingdom come, we pray Satan's kingdom may be destroyed; and that the kingdom of grace may be advanced, ourselves and others brought into it, and kept in it; and that the kingdom of glory may be hastened.
