Call to Worship

Doxology Old Hundredth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

Almighty Father, you are the all-sufficient One, the Creator and sustainer of all things. Every breath of air is a gift from your sovereign hand; every word of forgiveness is a benediction of grace; we need you every hour! Forgive us for attempting to be self-sufficient: for thinking we can control our circumstances, bear spiritual fruit by our own effort, or make amends to you for the sins we commit. Teach us again that apart from you we can do nothing! Holy Father, help us rest in your provision; Holy Son, help us trust in your mediation; Holy Spirit, preserve and keep us in grace, we pray. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Hymn 165: Ye Servants of God, Your Master Proclaim Lyons

Gloria Patri Meineke

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
