Invocation
Hymn 291: See, the Conqueror Mounts in Triumph Rustington
Prayer of Confession
Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your unfailing love. According to Your great compassion, blot out our transgressions. Wash away all our iniquity, and cleanse us from our sin. Against You, You only, have we sinned and done what is evil in Your sight. Wash us, that we may be whiter than snow, for a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Restore us to fellowship with You, that we may walk in the full assurance of Your promises, and in the freedom of knowing that You care for us and have brought us to Yourself by the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose strong name we pray. Amen.
The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Acts 10:43
To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.
Doxology 733 Lasst Uns Erfreuen
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; alleluia, alleluia!
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Prayer of Illumination
Scripture Reading
Hymn 292: Who Shall Ascend the Mountain of the Lord Engelberg
Confession of Faith: Westminster Shorter Catechism, question 37
Question: What benefits do believers receive from Christ at the resurrection?
Answer: The souls of believers are at their death made perfect in holiness, and do immediately pass into glory; and their bodies, being still united to Christ, do rest in their graves, till the resurrection.
