Prelude: Prelude (Psalm 116) Elsa Barraine

Call to Worship

Invocation

Hymn 266: Come, Ye Faithful, Raise the Strain St. Kevin

Prayer of Confession

Sovereign Lord, to whom angels cry “Holy, holy, holy,” You are infinite, eternal, and unchanging in Your being, wisdom, power, truth, and goodness. In Your presence we recognize that we are more sinful than we ever thought. Our sin blinds us to the truth of who we really are. Yet you see all and know all; we cannot hide even our deepest secrets from You. O God, cleanse us by your Holy Spirit, and renew us by Your grace. Help us to trust more fully in the righteousness of Christ, who died for our sin, and was raised for our justification. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Romans 8:11

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

Doxology 733 Lasst Uns Erfreuen

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; alleluia, alleluia!
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Offertory: Christ Has Arisen, Alleluia arr. Colin Howland

Question of Preparation: Westminster Shorter Catechism, question 33

Question: What is justification?
Answer: Justification is an act of God's free grace, wherein He pardons all our sins, and accepts us as righteous in His sight, only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, and received by faith alone.

Sacrament of the Lord's Supper

The Sursum Corda (Lift up your hearts)

The Lord be with you.
And with your spirit.
Lift up your hearts!
We lift them up to the Lord!
Let us give thanks unto our Lord God.
It is right to give Him thanks and praise.
It is right and good and a joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks unto You, O Lord, Holy Father, Almighty, Everlasting God. Therefore, with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify Your glorious Name; evermore praising You, and saying:

“Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.”

Sunday Street Parking Reminder

We are fortunate to be able to park on neighboring streets when attending Sunday services.
The city allows us to park in designated areas. This is a privilege we could lose if we are not careful to follow standard parking regulations. A key requirement is that we are not to park within 20 feet of street corners. We have been informed several times recently, that some have been parking too close to street corners. This is illegal and dangerous to other drivers and bike riders, and it reflects poorly on our Christian witness to our neighbors. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the guidelines on the parking placards. Please park legally and carefully!
Please visit tenth.org/parking if you have any questions.
