Prelude: Prelude in D Major Johann Sebastian Bach

Call to Worship

Invocation

Hymn 6: O Come, My Soul, Bless Thou the Lord Tidings

Prayer of Confession

Our God and Father, Your mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! We confess our daily need of Your grace. Our sin clings so closely that we can hardly do anything from a pure heart. We need Your Holy Spirit to sanctify us by Your Word and keep us from temptation and evil. Grant us the assurance that we are no longer slaves to sin, but in Christ we are new creations. Lord, have mercy upon us, for the sake of Your dear Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Romans 3:23–25

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.

Doxology 733 Lasst Uns Erfreuen

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; alleluia, alleluia!
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
