Prelude

Prelude William Harris

In Christ There Is No East or West arr. Dale Wood

In Christ there is no east or west, in him no south or north, but one great fellowship of love throughout the whole wide earth.

Call to Worship

Doxology (Trinity Hymnal 731) Old Hundredth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;

Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

Loving Father, we thank you that as we confess our sins, we also learn your love for us in Christ. Forgive us for being double-minded, for the divided loyalty which pervades our lives. We say we love you, but our hearts are drawn to other things. We try to serve you while still serving money. We want your forgiveness but repeat the same sins. We want to be respected, but we destroy others with our words. O God, forgive us and create clean hearts within us. May your Holy Spirit work in us that which is pleasing in your sight. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: 2 Corinthians 8:9

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.

Invocation

Hymn 100: Holy, Holy, Holy! Nicaea

Gloria Patri (Trinity Hymnal 734) Meineke

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
