Prelude: Prelude in G Major Felix Mendelssohn

Call to Worship

Doxology Old Hundredth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

We confess to you, O God, that we have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and are not worthy to be called your children. We have forgotten you, and have broken your holy laws. We have been wayward and disobedient. We have been selfish and unkind. For the sake of your dear Son our Savior, we beseech you to pardon our sins, to make clean our hearts within us, and to grant us your peace. Through Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Romans 5:1

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Invocation

Hymn 1: All People That on Earth Do Dwell Old Hundredth

Responsive Reading: Psalm 47 (pew Bible p. 472)

Gloria Patri Meineke

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Write your blessed name, O Lord, upon my heart there to remain so indelibly engraved that no prosperity, no adversity shall ever move me from your love. He to me a strong tower of defense, a comforter in tribulation, a deliverer in distress, and a faithful Guide to the courts of heav'n through the many tempations and dangers of this life. O Jesu my only Savior! Write your blessed name, O Lord, upon my heart there to remain so indelibly engraved that no prosperity, no adversity shall ever move me from your love. Amen.
