Prelude: Pastoral Richard Purvis
Call to Worship
Doxology Old Hundredth
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Prayer of Confession
O God, who are of purer eyes than to behold iniquity, but who despises not the sorrow of the contrite, have mercy upon us, according to your lovingkindness. You alone know how often we have sinned: in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. O searcher of hearts, help us to acknowledge with deep sorrow the multitude of our transgressions. In your mercy, bring these things to our remembrance, and do not allow us to continue in them without correction. Cleanse us from all iniquity, and let your mercy bring us healing, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Psalm 32:5
I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.
Invocation
Hymn 100: Holy, Holy, Holy Nicaea
Responsive Reading: Psalm 41 (pew Bible p. 469)
Gloria Patri Meineke
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Sacrament of Baptism (11am)
Leah Mae Kurtz, born January 10, 2026 to James and Julia Kurtz.
At the direction of the minister, please join in singing "Jesus Loves Me."
Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to him belong, they are weak but he is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
