Call to Worship

Invocation

Hymn 119: I Sing the Almighty Power of God Forest Green

Prayer of Confession

God of Grace, you love us, but we have not loved you. You call, but we have not listened. You speak, but we have not heard. You summon us, but we have not answered. We walk away from neighbours in need. By our actions and attitudes, we condone what you condemn. O merciful Lord, we admit our sin, and turn to you in full repentance to ask for your gracious forgiveness. Restore us to full communion with you. Quicken our hearts to hear you when you speak, to be diligent and faithful in reading your Word the Bible, and to respond when you call us to take action; through Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: 1 John 4:10

In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Doxology (Trinity Hymnal 732) Tallis’ Canon

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;

Praise him above, ye heavenly host: praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Prayer of Illumination (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Offertory: If Ye Love Me Philip Wilby

If ye love me, keep my commandments, and I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; e’en the Spirit of Truth. And ye know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you.
