Prelude: Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus arr. Joyce Jones

Call to Worship

Doxology Old Hundredth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

Heavenly Father, we are prone to forget that the Holy Spirit is a Spirit of power. In our sloth we simply go through the motions, but our heart is not on fire as it should be. We are turned in upon ourselves and are too timid. We are often only half invested, and the embers of our love for you are too easily extinguished. Forgive us, O Lord. Light a fire within us today so that we demonstrate the life of Christ in all our words and actions. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Invocation

Hymn 168: I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art Toulon

Responsive Reading: Psalm 34:110 (pew Bible p. 463)

Gloria Patri Meineke

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

O Be Joyful in the Lord (11am) John Rutter
Tenth Church Choir

O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands: Serve the Lord with gladness, and come before his presence with a song. Be ye sure that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. O go your way into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. Be thankful unto him, and speak good of his Name. For the Lord is gracious, his mercy is everlasting: and his truth endureth from generation to generation. O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands. Glory be to the Father; glory be the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end, Amen.
