Soli Deo Gloria Colin Howland, organ

Pastorale, BWV 590 Johann Sebastian Bach

Call to Worship

Invocation

Hymn 179: Hallelujah! Thine the Glory Thine The Glory

Prayer of Confession

Father God, your steadfast love endures forever and your faithfulness to all generations. We confess before you our unfaithfulness. We constantly go astray, making idols of pleasure and achievement, and paying homage to the gods of this age. We praise and thank you for the faithfulness of Jesus, who did not count equality with you a thing to be grasped, but humbled himself even unto death on a cross. May your Holy Spirit exalt the risen Christ in our hearts, that we might serve and please you in newness of life. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Doxology (Trinity Hymnal 732) Tallis’ Canon

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;

Praise him above, ye heavenly host: praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Prayer of Illumination (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
