Call to Worship

Doxology Old Hundredth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

O most mighty God, and merciful Father, who has compassion upon all men, and who wills not the death of a sinner, but rather that he should turn from his sin, and be saved; mercifully forgive us our trespasses; receive and comfort us, who are grieved and wearied with the burden of our sins. Your disposition is always to have mercy; you alone can forgive sins. Spare us therefore, good Lord, spare your people, whom you have redeemed; enter not into judgment with your servants; but so turn your anger from us, who meekly acknowledge our transgressions, and truly repent of our faults, and so make haste to help us in this world, that we may ever live with you in the world to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Colossians 1:1314

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Invocation

Hymn 382: God Himself Is with Us Wunderbarer König

Responsive Reading: Psalm 18:124 (pew Bible p. 454)

Gloria Patri Meineke

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

You Gates, Lift Up Your Heads on High (11am) arr. Evelyn Larter
Tenth Church Choir

You gates, lift up your heads on high; you doors that last for aye, be lifted up, that so the King of glory enter may. But who is He that is the King? The mighty Lord is this; ev'n that same Lord that great in might and strong in battle is. You gates, lift up your heads! You doors, doors that do last alway, be lifted up, for so the King of glory enter may. But who is he that is the King? The King of glory, who is this? The Lord of hosts, and none but he, the King of glory is. Hallelujah! Amen.
