Call to Worship

Doxology Old Hundredth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, we have sinned against you and against other people, in thought and word and deed, through negligence, through weakness, through our own deliberate fault. We are truly sorry and repent of all our sins. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, who died for us, forgive us all that is past; and grant that we may serve you in newness of life to the glory of your name. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: 1 Peter 2:910

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Invocation

Hymn 4: All Praise to God, Who Reigns Above Mit Freuden Zart

Responsive Reading: Psalm 136 (pew Bible p. 520)

Gloria Patri Meineke

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Offertory: Thee We Adore (9am) arr. Gilbert Martin

O Praise ye the Lord (11am) Charles Parry/arr. Mark White
Tenth Church Choir

O praise ye the Lord, praise Him in the height; rejoice in His word ye angels of light! Ye heavens adore Him by whom ye were made, and worship before Him in brightness arrayed. O praise ye the lord, praise Him upon earth, in tuneful accord, ye sons, of new birth, praise Him who hath brought you His grace from above, praise Him who hath taught you to sing of His love. O praise ye the Lord! Thanksgiving and song to Him be out poured. All ages along; for love in creation for heaven restored, for grace of salvation, O praise ye the Lord. Amen!

Hymn 353: I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord St. Thomas

Sacrament of the Lord's Supper

The Sursum Corda (Lift up your hearts)

The Lord be with you.
And with your spirit.
Lift up your hearts!
We lift them up to the Lord!

Let us give thanks unto our Lord God.
It is right to give Him thanks and praise.

It is right and good and a joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks unto You, O Lord, Holy Father, Almighty, Everlasting God. Therefore, with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify Your glorious Name; evermore praising You, and saying:

“Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.”
