Invocation
Hymn 312: O God, Your Judgments Give the King Ostend
Prayer of Confession
Mighty God, we praise you Christ has been raised victorious over sin and death! There is, therefore, no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. But gracious Father, we lament that while victory has been won, sin is still powerfully present in our lives. Old habits cling to us; we find that sin is close at hand in all we do and say. Our affections are still won over by countless temptations. We too easily go along with the crowds around us. By your Holy Spirit, give us a holy distaste for sin. Write your Word upon our hearts, and lead us in righteousness each day, we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Hebrews 9:11–12
But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
Doxology 733 Lasst Uns Erfreuen
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; alleluia, alleluia!
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
