Call to Worship

Doxology Old Hundredth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your unfailing love. According to Your great compassion, blot out our transgressions. Wash away all our iniquity and cleanse us from our sin. Against You, You only, have we sinned and done what is evil in Your sight. Wash us, that we may be whiter than snow, for a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Restore us to fellowship with You, that we may walk in the full assurance of Your promises, and in the freedom of knowing that You care for us and have brought us to Yourself by the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose strong name we pray. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: Acts 10:43

To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.

Invocation

Hymn 263: Lift High the Cross Crucifer

Responsive Reading: Psalm 94:1–11 (pew Bible p. 498)

Gloria Patri Meineke

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession (concluding with The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Hymn 341: O Breath of Life, Come Sweeping Through Us Spiritus Vitae

Sacrament of the Lord's Supper

The Sursum Corda (Lift up your hearts)

The Lord be with you.
And with your spirit.
Lift up your hearts!
We lift them up to the Lord!
Let us give thanks unto our Lord God.
It is right to give Him thanks and praise.
It is right and good and a joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks unto You, O Lord, Holy Father, Almighty, Everlasting God. Therefore, with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify Your glorious Name; evermore praising You, and saying:

“Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.”
