Call to Worship

Invocation

Hymn 111: This Is My Father's World Terra Beata

Prayer of Confession

O most great, most just and gracious God, You are of purer eyes than to behold iniquity. We confess that we have neglected and abused Your holy worship; we have dishonored our superiors, and neglected our inferiors; we have dealt unjustly and uncharitably with our neighbors, not loving them as ourselves, nor doing to others as we would have them do to us. We have not sought first Your kingdom and righteousness, and been contented with our daily bread. Have mercy upon us, most merciful Father. Be reconciled to us, and let the blood of Jesus Christ cleanse us from all our sins. Amen.

The Gospel’s Assurance of Pardon: 1 John 1:8–9

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Doxology 733 Lasst Uns Erfreuen

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; alleluia, alleluia!
Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
